Jerry L. Sanderson Obituary

Jerry L. Sanderson , 71, passed away on Jan. 24, 2016, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on April 25, 1944, in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Jerry F. and Rosa Lee Sanderson.

Jerry met and married his wife of 41 years, Linda, in Perryton, Texas on August 30, 1974. Jerry loved and lived for fishing, spending time with family and friends and building and flying model airplanes and was a member of Alamogordo RCers, Inc.
He retired in 2008, after a 45 year career in electrical construction, distribution and management positions with Community Public Service (CPS) and Texas New Mexico Power (TNP) in Perryton, Texas, and Alamogordo and Ruidoso, New Mexico.
After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed several years traveling in their RV together with the dogs to numerous campgrounds and fishing holes, where he supplied many campground friends and neighbors with the catch of the day.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Denise of Pasco, Wash.; son, Jody of Mauriceville, Texas; daughter, Jeri Ann of Perryton, Texas; grandchildren, David, Kamber and Riley; his mother, Rosa Lee of Sayre, Okla.; brother, Tony and wife Susan of Erick, Okla.; brother, Sammy and wife Darlene of Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry F. Sanderson; infant sister, Evelyn Marie; sister, Verna Lee; first wife, Ivonna.

The memorial service for Jerry Sanderson will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Moon officiating.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the , Champion Cancer Center (GCRMH), Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice or to one's favorite charity.

The family wishes to thank the Champion Cancer Treatment Center doctors, nurses and staff and Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice for all the wonderful and compassionate care bestowed upon our loved one.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. You were our rock, and will always be in our hearts, we love you.

The Sanderson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
