Obituary Condolences

Jerry H. McFarland, 86, of Alamogordo, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Mr. McFarland was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Waco, Texas, to Joe and Maude McFarland. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during World War II in the 460th Bomb Group (H).
After the war, he married Deva Sacet of Clovis Sept. 18, 1943.
He and Deva moved to Alamogordo in 1961, and were members of the First Baptist Church. His career was in the civil service, from which he retired in 1986 as a range controller at White Sands Missile Range. He was a member of Border Lodge No. 672, A.F.&A.M. in Texarkana, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Deva L. McFarland, of the family home; a son, Mike McFarland his wife Cheryl, of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Jerry Lynn Marino and her husband Lee, of Philadelphia, and Deva Eileen Stewart and her husband Vic, of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Shannon Murley and her husband John, of Cincinnati, Amanda Fitser and her husband Jim, of Philadelphia, and Meghan Pimentel and her husband Anthony, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two great-granddaughters, Elena, of Cincinnati, and Kyra, of Philadelphia; two great-grandsons, Chase, of Las Vegas, and Sterling, of Philadelphia; and a brother, Joe Tom McFarland, of McGregor, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with Dr. Bill Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
