Jeryl M. Keith Sr. Obituary
Jeryl M. Keith, Sr., 56, of Cloudcroft, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, in Alamogordo. Jeryl was born Nov. 5, 1952, in Roswell to Clark C. Sr., and Nina Bell (Maples) Keith.
Jeryl graduated from Roswell High School in 1971. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1977, where he served two overseas tours aboard the Navy destroyer Henry B. Wilson, which was one of the last ships to evacuate refugees from Vietnam. Jeryl later worked 12 years for Dyn Corp. at Holloman Air Force Base and recently was the owner of Majek Construction Co. He loved the outdoors and was at home with nature, enabling him to be an avid and expert fisherman and hunter. Jeryl was a former Royal Ranger Commander at First Assembly Worship Center, where he had a passion for teaching young men camping and survival skills.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Margaret, of the family home; sons Jeryl Keith Jr. and Steven Keith, both of Alamogordo; mother Nina Board, of Roswell; brother Clark Keith Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Las Cruces; two nieces; seven great-nieces and one great-nephew, all of Las Cruces; brother in law Bob Pior of Ruidoso; sister-in-law Jean Dean and her husband, David, of Mesa, Ariz.; and brother-in-law Jack Pior and his wife, Carol, of Jordan, Ariz.
Memorial services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel, with Pastor Sam Jackson officiating
Cremation services are under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
