Jim Hafey Obituary

Harwood James Hafey passed away of natural causes in Alamogordo.

He was born in American Falls, Idaho. He will be greatly missed by Carol, his wife of 13 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Hafey.

He will also be missed by his four daughters, Joanna Roberts of Oklahoma City, Okla., Molly Hafey also of Oklahoma City, Okla., Emily Hafey of Las Vegas, Nev., and Deborah Hafey of Reno, Nev., along with his three grandchildren, Ella, Fletcher and Henley Roberts all of Oklahoma City, Okla.

"Jim", as he was known, was the only child of Howard Hafey and Ruth Cox Hafey. He lived in several countries growing up. His father was a pilot in the United States Air Force. His mother was an accomplished musician, cook and homemaker. His dad taught him how to play baseball; Jim excelled in this sport and amazed his friends in later life with his extensive knowledge of the game and players. He was also a good golfer and played many rounds with his family and friends.
Jim really enjoyed cars, another interest fostered by his dad. Jim worked in car sales for several decades. He worked in dealerships as well as smaller individual businesses.

Jim loved the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. He could tell you the name of the song and singer(s). He enjoyed old movies and old television comedies. He could name the principal actors and character actors as well. He was well read, had a good command of the English language and a wonderfully dry wit. He enjoyed spending time talking with his old and new friends.

At Jim's request, no services will be held.
