Jimmie always took pride in his home and community. He was a member of Future Farmers of America throughout high school and was later awarded the State Farmer Degree , the highest recognized honor at the state level.
Jimmie was an avid hunter and sportsman, who never failed to "just be in the right place at the right time " as he would say. When the time came that Jimmie was unable to compete himself, his greatest joy in life became watching his sons compete in team roping events all across the country.
