JoAnn Kolodinski Obituary
JoAnn Kolodinski, 79, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Alamogordo. She was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Carrollton, Mo., to Dock O. and Mary B. (Smith) Whitaker.
She retired from the city of San Diego, where she was an office manager. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Alamogordo, where she was the leader of Bible quizzing at the Church of the Nazarene. She later joined Calvary Chapel, where she was active in many areas, including rummage sales and youth activities. She was always concerned and thoughtful for the family of Calvary Chapel.
She is survived by her husband William S. Kolodinski, of the family home; her son David Kolodinski, of Lakeside, Calif.; three daughters, Linda Carruthers and her husband, Mike, of Santa Cruz, Calif., Kathie Oliver and her husband, Tom, of El Cajon, Calif., and Karen Whitcomb and her husband, Vern, of San Leandro, Calif.; granddaughters Yvette and Ariana Carruthers, of Santa Cruz, Calif., and brother John Whitaker, of Kansas City, Mo.
A celebration of life for JoAnn Kolodinski will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Calvary Chapel of Alamogordo, 1112 Cuba Ave., Alamogordo, with Pastor Rick Kiscadon officiating.
The Kolodinski family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
