Jose Angel Torres, 84
Jose Angel Torres, 84, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in Alamogordo. He was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Carrizozo to Antonio and Concha (Martinez) Torres.
Jose proudly served his country in the Army during World War II under Gen. Douglas MacArthur. He retired from Texas-New Mexico Power Co. as a lineman. Jose liked to garden, help his friends with construction projects and spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Katherine Torres, of Alamogordo; daughter Teresa Provencio and her husband, Raymond, of Alamogordo; sons Alfredo R. Torres and Fernando Torres and his wife, Alicia, of Alamogordo; sisters Lucy Torres, of Alamogordo, Jane Madrid and her husband, Pablo Sandoval, of Denver, and Brigget Valdez and her husband, Ralph, of Los Angeles; brothers Lee Torres and his wife, Amalia, of Mobile, Ala., Albert Torres and his wife, Theresa, of Albuquerque, and Pedro Torres and his wife, DeeDee, of Alamogordo; granddaughter Arleen Renteria and her husband, Joseph, of High Rolls; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery with Father Bryant Hausfeld, OFM, celebrant.
Pallbearers include Fernando Torres Jr., Alex Torres, Pete Torres Jr., Reyes Torres, Joseph Renteria, Manuel Orozco and Rudy Contreras.
Family and friends are welcome to meet at ICC Parish Hall immediately following the graveside service.
The Torres family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
