Jose Domingo 'Joe' Otero, 66
Jose Domingo "Joe" Otero, 66, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Fort Stanton to Antonio and Manuelita Beltran Otero.
Survivors include his daughters JoAnne Muniz and spouse, Baldemar, of Las Cruces, Kathy Sida and Adam, of Tularosa, Veronica Hernandez, of Alamogordo, Ramona Beckstrom and spouse, Kim, of Ogden, Utah, Stella Duran and spouse, Francisco, of Alamogordo, and Berlinda Duran and Andre, of Ogden; his sons Ernest Sida and Teresa, Louis Sida, and Benjamen Sida, all of Ogden; sisters Mary Adler and spouse, Frank, of Alamogordo, Edna Chavez and spouse, John, of Tularosa, and Irene Maturino, of Dallas; brothers Gabriel Otero and spouse, Irene, of Alamogordo, Antonio "Jr." Otero and spouse, Becky, of Washington, Orlando Otero, of Alamogordo, Billy Otero and spouse, Louisa, of La Luz, Emilio Otero and spouse, Tina, of Alamogordo, John Otero, of Dallas, and Robert Otero, of New York; his grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sons-in-laws Robert Lopez and Yolanda, and Glenn Duquette; and daughter-in-law Sally Sida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chrestina Otero; Antonio and Manuelita Otero, parents; Fortino Otero, brother; sisters Pauline Pacheco and Sylvia Tessitore; sons David Guilez and Jose Sida; daughter Irene Lopez; and son-in-law Arthur Hernandez.
The rosary will be recited from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Deacon Pete Schumucher.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Fr. Bryant Hausfeld as celebrant Monday, April 11, 2011, also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo.
Pallbearers include Gabriel Otero, Orlando Otero, Billy Otero, Emilio Otero, Baldemar Muniz, Robert Lopez, Francisco Duran and Adam Lovato.
Inurnment will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in the Tularosa Fairview Cemetery located in Tularosa with military honors.
The family will greet friends from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to First Savings Bank account number 213223710 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
The Otero/Muniz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
