Jose "Zeke" Sandoval Obituary
Master sergeant, U.S.A.F., retired
Jose went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. He was born March 5, 1938, in Picacho to Jose I. and Juanita (Mendoza) Sandoval.
He was best known to family and friends as Zeke. He retired as a master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He served his country through two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retirement from the service, he worked for several government contractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pauline Rodriguez, and a son, Mark Sandoval.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Carol Sandoval; a son, Michael D. Sandoval and wife, Arnett; stepdaughter Sandra Preciado and husband, Alex; stepson Pilar (Jerry) Hernandez and wife, Margie; eight grandchildren, Tanaisa, Desiree, Rachel, Jennifer, Victoria, Alex (June Bug), Jerry Jr. and Joey; four step-grandchildren, Destiny, Stephanie, Jennifer and Julian; eight great-grandchildren, Lola, Lydia Rose, Damien, Teana, Jasmine, Maddox and Hayley; nine step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Gracie, Lexie, Trevin, Xavior, John Michael, Annalicia, Jacob and Joseph; his brother Manuel Sandoval and wife, Olila, of Lompoc, Calif.; sisters Pat Martinez and husband, Gus, of Roswell, and Rita Salcido, of Las Cruces; sister-in-law Grace Guidry and husband, Larry, of Alamogordo, and many nieces and nephews
The rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at St. Jude Mission by Linda Villavacencio.
Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. in the church with Father Tom Hoffman, S.J., as celebrant. 
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Alex Preciado Sr., Eddie Rodriguez, Joe Sandoval, Lawrence Sandoval, Filipe Salcido, Alex (June Bug) Preciado Jr. and Victor Guidry.
The Sandoval family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
