Joseph A. Guinn Sr.

Obituary Condolences

Born March 13, 1964
Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and dear friend went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
Joe was a hard working trucker (Road Dog) with United Van Lines American Moving and Storage since 1982. Joe was van operator of the month in 1990-1991. He was an inspiration to many drivers and loved by many.
Joe was a devoted and loving father to his children Joseph Jr. and Edwina Guinn, whom he loved unconditionally.
Joe touched many lives in one way or another. He loved his brothers and had a special place in his heart for each one of them. He loved talking sports with his son Joseph Jr. Their team was the Philadelphia Eagles - win or lose. Joe had a story for everyone and everyone has a story about him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joe enjoyed riding his Harley with the wind always at his back and the sun upon his face.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel Morales Guinn; son Joseph Guinn Jr., his fiancee, Stephanie, and granddaughter Mariah Haley Guinn; daughter Edwina Guinn and Robert Orona and grandson Joseph Robert Orona; his loving mother, Peggy Guinn; brothers Johnny Guinn and companion Mary, James Guinn and Christopher "Critty" Guinn; sister Jennifer Guinn; sisters-in-law Dora Morales, Pauline and Hector Najar, Magdalena Morales, and Michelle and Danny Salazar; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and held a special place in his heart, as well as two very dear friends that he helped raise, Danny Salazar and Steve Daugherty.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joseph W. Guinn; sister Edwina Guinn; brother Michael Guinn; mother and father-in-law Cecilia and Filimon Morales; "gansta" dog Max and very special friend Andy Arenas.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back, the sunshine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again may God hold you in the hollow of his hand beloved wife, son, daughter, mother, grandchildren, brothers and dear friends.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant. Family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Guinn Jr., Johnny Guinn, James Guinn, Critty Guinn, Danny Salazar, Chuy Morales, Hector Najar, Eddie Carter, Jorge Maynez, Richard Gonzales and Dennis Lucero. Honorary pallbearers are co-workers from United Van Lines.
The Guinn family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
