Joseph Patrick Casarez Sr. Obituary
Joseph Patrick Casarez Sr., 89, died peacefully April 1, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jacqueline (Richardson) Casarez; his three children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws, including sister-in-law Julia Makinson.
Native and longtime resident of El Paso, Joe made his mark on Alamogordo in the 1950s and 1960s as district director of LULAC fighting for Head Start programs, and made many lifelong friends and compadres in this community. Celebrate his life by sending your stories to [email protected] and/or coming to his services in El Paso.
Visitation will be at Kastor-Maxon Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, from 5 to 9 p.m. with memorial and rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11:45 a.m. followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1 pm with a reception at the VFW Post 8919, 5535 Saluki, immediately following.
