1942 - 2015 Obituary Condolences

Senior Master Sergeant, U.S.A.F., Ret.

Joseph W. Ash, 73, passed into the arms of the Lord on August 21, 2015 surrounded by his family. "Pa Joe" was a loving and beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend.

Joe was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Alamogordo, Past Master of Tularosa Masonic Lodge 49 for over 50 years, Order of the Eastern Star Tularosa Basin #72 for 50 years, White Sands Shriner's Club and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for 28 years.

Joe was born January 19, 1942 to Wylie and Jane Ash in Shelbyville, IN. He joined the U.S. Air Force in May of 1960 during the Vietnam War, and was decorated with numerous medals. After retiring from the Air Force on June 1st, 1988, Joe worked for DynCorp and Foxworth-Galbraith in Alamogordo. He loved wood-working, fishing, hunting, traveling in his trailer to many destinations, and barbeques as "Chef Jose" at Casa Aguirre.

Joe is survived by his wife of 11 years, Virginia. By brothers Jim and Tom Ash and sisters Anna Belle Sosbe and Margaret Orosco. He is also survived by son Mike (wife Teri, daughters Krista and Jennifer), daughter Cathy Zabloudil (husband Wes, daughter Danielle, son Wesley), son Chris (wife Tammy, sons Kevin and Corey), daughter Monique Brooks (husband Mark, daughters Nichole and Shaunah), daughter Kristine (daughters Jennifer, Julia, Josephine and son Joseph David ), son Mark King (son Robert and daughter Sarah), daughter Susan Pinson (son Torey, daughters Bree, Sierra, Lynda Kay, Shannon), daughter Colleen Doss (son Michael II, daughters Leslie, Shavonne, Ashley) and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, W. Wylie and Eliza Jane, brother Paul, son Steve King and granddaughter Mary.

Services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10 a.m., in Alamogordo, NM at Alamogordo Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, please donate in his honor to the Transportation Fund.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Tularosa Masonic Cemetery.
