Josephine A. Ureta, 90
Josephine moved to Alamogordo in 2000 to be close to her daughters.
She passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter Nora and her granddaughter Raquel by her side.
She will always be remembered fondly for her sense of humor and was always making people laugh.
She loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. She loved gardening and up until the time when her health declined had the most beautiful flower garden in her backyard, with yellow roses, hollyhocks and lots of larkspur.
She loved her dog Chiquita, who was with her until her last minute.
At her request, she will be cremated.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ureta Sr., in 1998 and her son Frankie Ureta in 1998.
She is survived by her daughters Nora Fields and husband, Jeffrey, of Alamogordo, and Dolores Bustamante and husband, Frank, of Ruidoso Downs; sisters Mary D'andrea and husband, Albert, of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Dora Ramirez and husband, Zeke, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Loretta Fields, of McKinney, Texas, Priscilla Bustamante, of Denver, Adrienne Fields, of San Antonio, Texas, Raquel Ureta Seewald, of Baynton Beach, Fla., Jennifer Fields-Stanard, of New Orleans, Hector (Dirky) Bustamante, of Taylorville, Ill., Michael Bustamante, of Ruidoso Downs, Christina Ureta, of Houston, and Jeff Fields, of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
The rosary will be recited at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Stockton.
Inurnment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton, where her ashes will be laid between her husband and her son.
The Ureta family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
