Juan J Pena, Jr., 95
Juan J. Pena, Jr., 95, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at the Texas State Veterans Home in El Paso.
He was born on Wednesday, June 2, 1915, in Duran to Juan J. and Juanita (Madril) Pena, Sr.
He was a lumberjack and mill worker for Prestige Lumbar Company. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater and North Africa in the 804 Tank Destroyer Battalion, Company C. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestina Pena.
Juan is survived by his daughters; Viola Penner and husband Richard of Alamogordo and Margarita Lucero and Husband Orlando of Alamogordo; two grandsons, Orlando G. Lucero, III and wife, Tanya, of Alamogordo and Antonio Lucero of Alamogordo; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Marcus, Brandy, Rae Lynn, Marissa, Eddie, Gabriel, Liliana and Mariah.
The Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the Rosary on Tuesday.
The Pena family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
