Juanita Hadley

Obituary Condolences

Juanita Hadley passed away quietly Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by two brothers, Jay L. Garrison and Alan Garrison, of Richland, Ore.; one sister, Mamie, of Fallon, Nev.; and two sons, Leroy Hadley, of Alamogordo, and Carwin Hadley, of Mayhill. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Juanita was one of the old timers here. Her family came to this area around 1930; they lived in Wills Canyon. Her dad, James L. Garrison, worked for the railroad. She met and married Everett Hadley in 1936. They lived on Burnt Canyon until Leroy was born and then they moved to the James Canyon home around 1940. Everett went to work for the Forest Service. Juanita was a homemaker for several years until she went to work at Burgett Floral, where she worked for several years. All this time she was the Avon lady. Then in the late 1980s she and her son, Carwin, purchased the Mayhill Bar where she bartended until 2003.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; three sisters, Bea, Reba and Kay; one brother, Richard; her husband, Everett; and son Wayne.
There will be a memorial at the We Be Grocery Store (The old Mayhill Bar building) in Mayhill at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009. We are going to miss you, Mom.
The Hadley family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
