Judith Ann Raymondo Obituary
Judith Ann Raymondo
June 13, 1938 - Feb. 14, 2014
I am Judy's husband, Frank, and I would like to tell you about the wonderful woman I was married to for over 50 years. We were a military family and were fortunate to have only been apart from each other one time while I served in Vietnam. That was a difficult time for Judy as she took care of our young son alone; she handled this challenge, as she would handle everything else in her life, with a smile and quiet determination.
Judy always liked working with people especially those in the nursing homes where she would assist the priest with serving communion to the residents.
She would deliver meals on wheels. If she would see that a person she delivered meals to had a problem she would assist that person to solve the problem.
She was a past president of the Alter Rosary Society at St. Jude Parish. The group would raise money which would be used to buy new vestments as well as light fixtures and other items that were needed.
One of the other programs Judy helped with was the angel tree at Christmas time. Judy and her friend Virginia would cover the tree with little angels cut out of paper. Each angel had a list of items needed by the residents. Parishioners would take an angel and shop for the items and gift wrap them. Judith would just love to see the smiling faces of the residents as each gift was unwrapped.
She also worked making Christmas baskets for the needy and then put me to work making the deliveries.
Judy is survived by her son Christopher; brother Tony Zampogna; her niece Lory and nephew Michael and son his Zakery; brothers-in-law Peter Raymondo and wife, Ursala, and Anthony Raymondo and wife, Patricia; and sister-in-law Mary Serranne and her son Jon as well as many nieces and nephews. Judy also leaves Abby Barajas, whom she treated like the daughter she never had, her husband, TJ, and their children Ace and Judith (named after Judy).
Judy will be missed by all the people that she knew - and most especially by me.
Memorial services will be held at St. Jude Parish in at later date where Judy will be inurned in at Columbarium.
I would like to thank the 911 operator who took my call and the first responders who arrived to help me with Judy. They were very professional as they tried to help her and treated both of us with caring, dignity and respect.
Our family has entrusted Judy to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at PCS.
