Katherine Elaine Hurley Obituary
Kathy Hurley of Alamogordo peacefully slipped into the arms of the Lord on June 26th surrounded by family and the nurses at Gerald Champion Regional Hospital. She spent her final moments outdoors in the New Mexico sun that she loved so much.

Kathy was born to Frank and Dolly Maas on February 28, 1941 in Corning, Iowa. She was the youngest of ten children.

She dearly loved the company of her beloved husband Mike of 58 years and deeply enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and could often be found reading her Bible. Kathy and Mike owned and operated two clothing stores in Alamosa, Colorado. She then went to work for Public Service in 1975 until her retirement in 1998. They sold their mountain home and moved to their ranch in Montana where the winters proved to be too cold and then relocated south to Alamogordo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers Michael, Charles, Kenny, Beryl and Larry Maas.

She is survived by her husband Mike. One brother Donald Maas of Pueblo, CO, sisters Mavis Thompson of Scranton, ND, Norma Schneider of Bismark, ND and Mary Holgard of Lemon, SD. A daughter Trish (Doug) Barton of Gypsum, CO, a son Todd (Sonya) Hurley of Owasso, OK and eight grandchildren Jessi, Justin and Jarrod Barton, Kevin and Jeremy Hurley, Courtney Beam, Morgan Little and Kylie Farris and her first great grandchild due in February.

Services will be held on Friday, June 30th at 11am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Alamogordo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1212 Washington Avenue, Alamogordo, New Mexico.
