1940 - 2010 Obituary Condolences
Kathy Boehm, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010.
Kathleen Jacobi Boehm was born Oct. 16, 1940, in New York City. She was the oldest child of Theodore Vincent Jacobi, Jr. and Kathleen Rowland Jacobi.
Kathy graduated from The Mary Louis Academy, in Jamaica Estates-Queens, N.Y., and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Newton, Mass.
Kathy married Bill Boehm on Aug. 17, 1963. While Bill completed his medical training, the couple lived in St. Louis, where their five children were born. The family later moved to Louisiana, where Dr. Boehm served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1973, the family moved to Alamogordo.
Kathy was a life member of the Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. Kathy enjoyed sewing clothes for her family, and her creations were admired at many Golden Thimble Fashion Shows.
She was also a longtime member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an organization committed to promoting educational opportunities for women. Kathy served a variety of leadership roles in P.E.O. Chapter BI, including president.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband Dr. William Boehm; two brothers, Theodore Jacobi III, of Port Washington, N.Y., and Robert Jacobi, of Emerson, N.J.; and her children Bill, Paul, Mary, Carolyn and Barbara.
Kathy was beloved by her entire family, including her daughter-in-law Laura Atkinson Boehm and her three sons-in-law, Robert Prichard, Ryan Buschjost and Randy Duran. She was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren: Kaci Lobato, Kaitlyn, Christopher and Tyler Boehm, Charlize Duran and Grace Buschjost.
Kathy was a warm, caring person. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
A wake will be held at Alamogordo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. The rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Jude's Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

The Boehm family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
