Katy Pacheco Obituary
Katy Pacheco was born Feb. 27, 1943. She passed way Sunday, Feb. 27 2011, in Avondale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Pacheco; parents Jose and Juanita Chavez; and sister Mary Chavez Coccattp.
She leaves behind three sons, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, six sisters, two brothers, a few hundred nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and even more friends and co-workers whom she all loved.
Katy worked for the Alamogordo Public Schools as a librarian at La Luz Elementary School, where she later retired. She enjoyed singing with her brothers and sisters, and could always be found singing along to old favorites on the radio and with the choir at Mass. She also loved spending time with her sons and family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Coyazo, Richard Pacheco, Alex Padilla, Mario Estrada, Desmond Sierra, Ricky Covarrubia and Raymond Gonzales.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at the church with Father Juan Montoya, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Burial will immediately follow at La Luz Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the old La Luz Gym after the burial.
The Pacheco family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
