Kenneth Wayne Van Winkle, age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 11, 2017. Kenneth was born to Anna Mae and Tony Van Winkle on June 24, 1937 in Bernalillo, New Mexico. He lived most of his life in New Mexico graduating from high school in Alamogordo and from college at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He was a Pharmacist in New Mexico for 36 years, retiring in 2000. He continued working part time in Colorado for 14 years. During his years as a pharmacist, he was co-owner of 5 different Pharmacies in Farmington, Aztec and White Rock, New Mexico. His health began deteriorating at the early age of 39 resulting in heart problems and a triple bypass surgery in 1977. After his surgery, he sold the stores and worked as an Education Minister at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Farmington, NM and Discipleship Minister at Temple Baptist Church Albuquerque, NM.

Kenneth and his family moved to Bayfield, Colorado in 1980 where he worked part time for Revco Pharmacy in Durango. The family attended Bayfield Baptist church, where he was ultimately called as their pastor. He worked in a bi-vocational capacity as Pastor of Bayfield Baptist Church, CO and Pharmacist in Farmington, NM for 9 years.

Kenneth was married to his wife, Darla, for 58 years and they have a daughter, Pamela J. Day (Brian) living in Loveland, CO, and a son, Kevin L. Van Winkle (Dawn) living in Lafayette, CO.

Other than his wife and children Kenneth is survived by one brother Harold Van Winkle (Darlene) who resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
