Former owner of Lowell's Service
L. Lowell Stough, 83, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Stough was born July 6, 1925, in Hinsdale, Ill., to Lyman Levi and Lorraine (Modjeska) Stough. He was a veteran of World War II. For many years he owned and operated Lowell's Service until his retirement. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Sacramento Lodge No. 24, A.F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies in Las Cruces, and the Rocket Shrine Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Scofield, and her husband, Robert, of Albuquerque; a son, Lyman L. Stough II, of Fort Sumner; and two grandchildren, Amanda Scofield, of El Paso, and Jarrod Scofield and his wife, Marissa, of Albuquerque.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Edith Stough, in 2001.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with the Rev. Mary Taken officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
