World War II veteran                                     
La Range "Red" Smith Davis, 87, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008, at his home in Tularosa. Mr. Davis was born Jan. 31, 1921, at Roosevelt, Utah. He was the son of the late John Henry and the late Nora Larena (Smith) Davis. 
He married Lorraine Jolley June 10, 1945, at Long Beach, Calif. They lived in La Habra, Calif., for 50 years before moving to Tularosa. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He was employed by International Corp. as an international manager.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Jolley) Davis; two daughters, Merling Rogers and husband Tim, of Tularosa, and Lela Votaw, of Chino, Calif.; two sons, Ray Davis, of Riverside, Calif., and Gary Davis, of Phoenix; three brothers; Emmett Davis and wife Marge, of Highland, Utah; K Davis and wife Mary, of Spring Valley, Utah, and Reed Davis, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers include Gary B. Davis, Tim F. Rogers II, Aaron Rodriguez, Walter Rhett Votaw, Rhett Votaw and Paul Whittington.
Honorary pallbearers include Ray R. Davis and Tim F. Rogers.
The funeral service will be Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Latter Day Saints Church.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
