Laura Jean Brown Obituary

This obituary was written in the memory of our beloved Laura Jean Brown who was born in San Pedro, Calif., on July 18, 1955, and passed away in El Paso, Texas on Nov. 14, 2014, at 59 years old.

Laura is survived by her two daughters Gail Cox and Tonya Duck, her mother Jeanne Bowen, and her siblings, Robert Malseed, Lisa Malseed, Lu Ann Malseed and Lynn Malseed.

Laura was an amazing athlete, a mathematician, and could put a smile on anyone's face. Laura loved everyone in her life and would have given everything she owned to you if you needed it. Worldly possessions were never anything she cared for; she was the happiest either with her toes in the San Diego beach with her best friend's, Jim Faryar, arm's wrapped around her or snuggled up on the couch with her grand babies.

Future arrangements will be made in 2015, and her ashes will be spread by her daughters in California.

"She always leaned to watch for us,
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe,
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget,
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet.
Waiting 'til we come home to her
Anxious if we are late
Watching from Heaven's window
Leaning from Heaven's gate."
