Leaden Posey` Obituary
Leaden Posey was born on Sept. 26, 1921, in Tularosa and passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 26, 2013. He was the son of Jack and Ella Posey. He was a lifetime resident of New Mexico. His wife, Norene, preceded him in death in 2012.
He is survived by his three children Dena Del Carlo (Don), Dennis (Lu Ann) Posey and Hyram (Lori) Posey; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Leaden was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad for 41 years as station agent. He was Past Worthy Patron of Order of Eastern Star, Past Master of the Sacramento Masonic Lodge and 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite Las Cruces. Leaden was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. For years he and Norene loved interacting with an array of friends and family in Otero County and did extensive traveling in their motor home throughout the United States. He also loved doing gardening and yard work.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home. Services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. with a Masonic gravesite service following.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Posey, Clyde Posey, Emmitt Posey, Gerald Posey, Justin Posey and Kenneth Posey. Honorary pallbearers are H. L. Anderson, Walter Argall, Eddie Brown, Rex James, Herman Price and G. L. Tucker
The Posey family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
