Obituary Condolences

Lisa (Elisar) Gabaldon Gallegos passed away peacefully at a family home in Las Cruces on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was surrounded by loved ones in the grace and protection of her Creator.
Lisa is survived by three children and their respective families: Lisa Gallegos, of Basque Farms; Joe K. Gallegos, of Carlsbad, and his son Joseph and family, his daughter Leslie Baca and children Steven and Amber; and Kathy Gallegos Austin and husband, Keith, of Las Cruces, their son Brian and his daughter Olivia Jewel Austin, of Amarillo, Texas, and daughter Stephanie Austin McNamara with husband, John, and their children Logan, Connor and Madison, of Las Cruces.
She is also survived by two brothers, Orlando (Robert) Gabaldon and Eddie (Neo) Gabaldon, and two sisters, Eluticia (Ticha) Vega and Margie Olguin. In addition, Lisa leaves several nieces and nephews on both the Gallegos and Gabaldon sides of the family, to many of whom she was known as "Auntie" or "Tia Elisar."
Lisa was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Joe J. Gallegos; her mother and father, Elvira and Guadalupe (Lupe) Gabaldon; one brother, Arnold Dimas; one daughter, Celia Aileen Gallegos; and a granddaughter-in-law, Melanie Lyn Israel Austin.
Pallbearers for services will be Paul Pino, Mark Chino, Ronnie Duran, Frankie Serna, Zach Olguin, Orlando Torres and Mike Gabaldon. Honorary pallbearers are Patsy Maez, Lucia Sanchez, Elda Cisneros, Virginia Mendoza, Rachel Alvarez, Rick Taylor and Electra Pratt.
The rosary will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at 6 p.m., and Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. Both services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Bent.
In lieu of flowers, Lisa requested that donations be sent to Mesilla Valley Hospice, Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo or Kitty City in Alamogordo.
The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Alamogordo Funeral Home.
