Lorrayne Langham Obituary

Our beautiful and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Lorrayne Langham, passed away on May 13, 2015 at her home in Alamogordo, New Mexico, surrounded by her three children, Stan, Sandy and Jan.
Lorrayne was born in Sunrise, Wyoming, on December 23,1918 to James Shafter Miller and Frances Louise Morgan.

She moved to Miami, Arizona, in 1932 and met classmate Raymond G. Langham whom she later married on her birthday, December 23, 1939.
In her early years Lorrayne worked in the dispensary at the Inspiration Copper Company Hospital and later secretary to Drs. Watts, Harris, Kelly, and Bacon at the hospital. She worked in administration for 12 years at the Southwest Archeological Center in Globe, Arizona, and 12 years as Executive Secretary to five General Managers at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company. She was the first woman to hold that position. She retired in November 1981.

Lorrayne moved from Arizona to Alamogordo in September 1993, which was the beginning of a new journey for the next 21 years. She loved her home in Alamogordo and being close to her family. Her passions were working crossword puzzles, scrapbooking, reading and studying her scriptures. She became a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church serving as a Sunday School teacher and also was the pianist for the Senior Adult Choir and the Celebration Choir. She accompanied the school choir and was pianist for several Baptist churches in Globe, Arizona, having begun her piano playing at the age of 14.

Lorrayne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Bob Miller, of Prescott, Arizona, and sister, Mary May Dodge of Tubac, Arizona.

She is survived by her three children; Stan (Jeanie) Langham of Payson, Arizona; Sandy (Ken) Eaton of Alamogordo and Jan (Preston) Perry of Alamogordo; she was "Grannan to six grandchildren: Chris (Catherine) Langham of Tucson, Arizona; Mark (Vivian) Eaton of Alamogordo; Rodney (Kerry) Eaton of Alamogordo; Amberlynne Eaton (Tony Bernicke) of Durand, Wisconsin; Bobby Curran of Alamogordo; and Kevin (Diane) Perry of Silver City. "Granna" to ten great-grandchildren: Emerson Langham, Crystal (Greg) Bodily, Ryan Eaton, Lindsay Eaton, Bryce (Riana) Eaton, Kandace (Devan) Hollibaugh, Trevor Eaton, D' Artagnon (Eaton) Sinclair, Tayton Curran and Lyric Perry. And "Granna" to three great-great-grandchildren: Mason and Kaylynn Bodily and Brynley Eaton.

The family of Lorrayne Langham would like to extend a special thank you to Erva, Linda, Nancy, Angie, Janie and Chuck Moon of Alamogordo Hospice. And a very special thanks to Dr. Padilla-Paz of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who gave us an extra year and nine months with our beloved mother.
