1930 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
Louis Olivarez, 81, passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Las Cruces.
He was born May 26, 1930, in Alamogordo. He lived in Las Cruces in the care of Tresco, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Diega (Viscarra) Olivarez and his sister, Nena (Olivarez) Calles.
Survivors include his brother-in-law, Elias G. Calles; nephew, Elias C. Calles and wife, Lorraine, of Tularosa; niece and guardian, Alicia Guenther and husband, Jurgen; niece, Cecilia and husband, Tony, of Albuquerque; nephew, Bobby Calles; nephew, Miguel Calles; numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; friend and room mate of many years, Joe Madrid of Las Cruces and his Direct Care Staff, Vicente Aguilar, Jesusita Morales, Omar Wright, Jesse Williams, Jamie Lopez, CLS Supervisor, Waunita Brown and Brandi Redi.
He volunteered for many years at Farm and Ranch in Las Cruces. He loved his morning coffee. He loved helping others and loved being around people with a big smile. He enjoyed listening to Mariachi and Spanish music and country music. He treasured his black cowboy hat which, wherever he went, went with him. He enjoyed feeding and grooming the horses.
Uncle Louis, you are with your father, mother and sister. You will be greatly missed by all of us and you will surely be missed by your Tresco Family. Uncle Louis, you are with the Lord and you are no longer suffering.
