Louise Rachel Neudorf Obituary

Louise Rachel Neudorf was born February 16, 1922, to Louis and Agusta Magee in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She passed away at the age of 93 on May 30, 2015, at her home in Boles Acres, New Mexico.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Neudorf and his wife, Kimberly; and George Neudorf and his wife, Sindi, both of Alamogordo, New Mexico. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Josh Neudorf and his wife Sara; Jana Gentry and her husband, Layne; Robert Brandon Neudorf and Katelyn Blankenship and her husband, Clint; all of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and Nikolaus Neudorf of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Koren, Emily, Sammy, Reese, Kiera, Rachel, Colton and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helma Neudorf Zukas of Sunset Beach, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Heinz Neudorf.

In February of 1940, she graduated from High School in Hawthorne, California, and thereafter attended business school. During World War II she worked for Northrup Aircraft Company in the payroll department. She also worked at a furniture manufacturing company making ailerons and rudder tabs for fighter planes. Louise enjoyed music very much and taught herself to play the piano at the age of four, and later learned to play the accordion.

In 1953 she met and married the love of her life, Heinz Neudorf in Hawthorne, California. They moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where Heinz worked at Holloman for Hughes Aircraft. They lived in High Rolls, New Mexico, for the first few years of their marriage. They were eventually able to obtain a home in Alamogordo, where their two sons were born. Louise and Heinz traveled extensively with their two sons and their dog, Baron, in their small travel trailer. Shortly after her and Heinz's 15th wedding anniversary, Heinz died from a brain tumor. Louise was left with two very active and independent young boys, which she raised with much love and devotion.

In her later years she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family at Elephant Butte Lake, as well as spending time in the mountains at her son's cabin in Timberon, New Mexico. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and puzzle work. Her family will truly miss her. There will be a graveside service for Louise at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Heinz.

The service will take place on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10 a.m.

The Neudorf family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
