Luella Marie "Butch" Blaylock

Obituary Condolences

Luella Marie (Butch) Blaylock, 66, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at her home in La Luz. She was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Great Falls, Mont., to Robert and Dorothy (Allum) Klassen.
Luella moved to Alamogordo in the 1960s, after a few stops with Boeing Aircraft with her kids' dad, Larry Nemec, now deceased. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and listened to Steve on the radio during her illness so as not to get an infection going to church service.
She was an avid bowler serving as past president of our local Women's Bowling Association (three terms), past secretary of an all-women's scratch league and past president of local Lady Keglers. She also coached a junior league for a number of years and ran a scholarship tournament for graduating seniors locally - the Tilford Stringer Scholarship - for 29 years. Butch loved the game of 10 pins, and loved adults and kids as well. She loved sports in general. She exercised in pool therapy at New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and enjoyed walking around the village in La Luz. She was a very active person. Butch loved the dances at senior center, great country music and good people. She loved to dance and polish J.B.'s belt-buckle. She always had a smile and was a very positive soul who will be missed.
Butch is survived by her husband, friend and lover, J.B.; her children, Debbi Courtright, of Plymouth, Ind., Dennis Nemec and wife Justine, of Glendale, Ariz., and Dana Jorgensen and husband Karl, of Las Cruces; stepson Freddie Blaylock and wife Lois, of Florida; grandchildren Castina, Daphne, Tanya, Joel, Logan, Kyra and Dylan; Freddie's children, Freddy Jr., Zack, Harleigh and Devin; stepchildren Tammie and Mitch; one sister, Teddie Jean and husband Danny Anderson; one brother Charles Klassen, both in Great Falls, Mont.; one great-grandchild, Joseph Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Roberta; three aunts and a nephew.
There are no services scheduled.
Direct cremation has taken place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services
