Lydia Crusita Chavez Obituary
Lydia Crusita Chavez passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, in her home in Tularosa.
She was born May 3, 1935, in Ruidoso to Edward U. and Consuelo S. Silva. After 20 years of service she retired from the Tularosa Municipal Schools.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Roy P. Chavez, and both her parents.
Survivors include her daughter Prestina Chavez; daughter Sylvia Telles and husband, Eddie Telles; son Billy Chavez and wife, Debbie Chavez; son Michael Chavez; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa by Max and Margie Salcido. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with Father Max Hottle, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Pallbearers are grandson Bryan Telles, grandson Aaron Chavez, granddaughter Nicole Steiger, great-grandson Nicolas Saenz, great-grandson Brett Saenz and great-grandson Matheas Luevano.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the church before the rosary.
The Chavez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
