Lydia Ligon Obituary
Lydia Ligon went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011. Lydia was born at home in Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 31, 1938, to Jose and Esefanita (Benevedez) Sanchez.
Lydia is survived by daughters Debbie Chanez, of Alamogordo, and Bernadette McGregor and her husband, Billy, of Albuquerque; sons Rudy P. Chanez and his wife, Trina, of Alamogordo, and Robert Ligon, of Alamogordo; six loving grandchildren: Dana and Daniel Chanez, and Audrey, Stephanie, Karen and William McGregor; one great-granddaughter, Zatricia Flores; and three sisters: Nell Jaramillo, of Ruidoso Downs, Viola Rue, of Ruidoso, and Elizabeth Wilton, of Dallas.
Lydia was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her door was always open to her children, grandchildren and friends. She always offered a warm, wonderful meal to everyone who entered. Lydia will be missed greatly by everyone.
The rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home chapel by Deacon Pete Schumucher. Memorial services will follow with Father Juan Montoya, O.F.M., officiating.
The Ligon family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
