Lyle C. "Mac" McCarty Obituary
Lyle C. "Mac" "Grumps" McCarty was born April 30, 1933, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home.
He is survived by his spouse, Jodi McCarty; his children Pam McCarty, of Rio Rancho, and Terry Myers and her husband, Donnie, of Alamogordo; his grandchildren Derek Myers and Ashleigh Trice and her husband, Jason, of Alamogordo; his great-grandchildren Macee and Averee Trice, of Alamogordo; a sister, Beverley Jenkins, of Bountiful, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews and families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McCarty; mother, June McCarty; and father, C.E. "Doc" McCarty.
Mac served 21 years in the United States Army. He served three tours in Vietnam and retired as a major in 1974. In 1980 Mac started Mac's Trucking and traveled across the Southwestern United States, making numerous friends along the way. He continued trucking until May 2009 when he started treatment for cancer. He lived his life to the fullest.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 5 p.m. at 10 Hughes.
