Maggie Ann (Temple) Rhodes Obituary
Maggie Rhodes, 75, went to the arms of our lord and savior Jesus Christ and the love of her life, Jearl, for a reunion that can only be described as heaven on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Maggie was born July 29, 1935, in Childress, Texas, to the late S.E. and Ernesteen Temple. She was the youngest of four children.
Her siblings, Curtis Temple, Juanita Reeder and Jack Temple preceded her in death. Jearl and Maggie were married on March 28, 1954, in Childress. They made their home in Tularosa in 1963. Maggie was a longtime member of the Tularosa Lions Club, enjoying many community activities and working in political elections. Jearl and Maggie enjoyed 42 years of marriage before he passed away in 1996.
She was a loving and dedicated mother. Her son Michael preceded her in death.
She is survived by four of her children: Ronald Rhodes and his wife, Brenda, of Boise, Idaho, Carol Rhodes, of Tularosa, Richard Rhodes and his wife, Marla Knight,f Abilene, Texas, and Deborah Davis and her husband, Terrell, of La Luz. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Shane, Joshua, Alicen, Michael, Crystal, Natalie, Sarah, Azelia, Jearl, Luke and Skylar; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She has left a permanent imprint on the hearts of those who loved her. She will be dearly missed.
On Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 11 a.m., graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Tularosa and officiated by Pastor Larry Mizell of Eternity Baptist Church of Alamogordo.
Afterward, the family will receive friends at the Tularosa Community Church celebrating Maggie's life.
The family invites all who would like to join them in sharing stories and memories of their angel on Earth.
