Obituary Condolences

Manuel M. Vigil, 85, passed away Monday March 16, 2009, in Tularosa. He was born on Oct. 28, 1923, to his parents, Manuel Vigil Sr. and Francisca (Montoya) Vigil, in Ruidoso.
He was a lifetime resident of Tularosa and was retired from White Sands Missile Range, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Gregoria, of the family home; his children, Pat DeLeon and her husband, Luis, of Alamogordo, Mary Reynolds and her husband, Ernest, of Roswell, Manny Vigil and his wife, Roberta, of Woodbridge, Va., Phillip Vigil and his wife, Elena, of Clovis, and Johnny Vigil and his wife, Gina, Barbara Duran, Liz Vigil, David Vigil and Cathy Vigil, all of Tularosa; 29 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited by Josie and Matias Chavez at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009, at St Francis Catholic Church in Tularosa. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. before the rosary.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church, with Father John Tran Nguyen, O.F.M.
Interment will follow at Santo Nino Cemetery in Three Rivers, with full military honors.
Pallbearers are Richard DeLeon, Frank Reynolds, Jesse Vigil, Joshua Vigil, Phillip Mark Vigil, Eusebio Duran, Mani Ray Vigil and Daniel Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers are Frank DeLeon, Patrick DeLeon, Dwayne Reynolds, Dennis Reynolds, Chris Reynolds, John Vigil, Ceasaré Vigil and Christopher Vigil.
The Vigil family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
