Margaret Lorene Waldo Obituary

Margaret Lorene Waldo, 78, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Sept. 29, 2014.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at South Park Cemetery, in Roswell, with Dr .W. Douglas Mills officiating.

Margaret was born Jan. 13, 1936, the fourth of six children, to William and Pearl (Blanscet) Dean in Roswell. She attended Roswell schools, graduating in 1954 from Roswell High.
Margaret married Donavan K. Waldo of Oberlin, Kan., May 17, 1955. They resided in Roswell, Alamogordo and Pueblo, Colo. Margaret and Don traveled to many places before retiring to Henderson, Nev., where they enjoyed the many amenities of the retirement community.
While living in Alamogordo, Maggie worked as administrative assistant for the Alamogordo Jr. High School. In Pueblo, she was employed at the transportation test center and later at the Pueblo Community College. She volunteered with the , the Pueblo Zoo and Nature Center, the Eagle Auxiliary and was a member of the Pueblo Ladies Golf League.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Don K. Waldo, in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Dean, her brother, William Dean Jr.; her son-in-law Larry Ray, and two brothers-in-law, Bill Wolf and Dick Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children: Kathy Denman and her husband Garry of Odessa, Texas; Jeff Waldo of Las Vegas, Nev.; Greg Waldo and his wife Molly of Silver Spring, Md.; David Waldo and his wife Regina of Austin, Texas.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Dr. Eric Ray and wife Ashley, of Southlake, Texas; Ginger Trichel and her husband Jason of Grapevine, Texas; Chad Ray and his wife Tamara of Allen, Texas; Tori Waldo of Las Vegas, Nev.; Laurie, Andrew, Stacy and Peter Waldo of Silver Spring, Md., and Adam Waldo of Austin, Texas, as well as four great-granddaughters Emery, Aubryn, Tatum and baby Ray who is due this month.
She is also survived by brother-in law Duane Waldo and his wife Marilyn of Ariz.; sisters, Lucille Wolf, Mildred Brown, LeNora and her husband, John Correia; brother Albert Daniel Dean and his wife, Levena, all of Roswell, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Margaret enjoyed traveling, golf and attending church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang with the Silver Chords. Margaret was very proud of her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Roswell or a .

Cremation has taken place at her request. Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home.
