Obituary Condolences

Margaret Ortega, 90, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, in Alamogordo. She was born July 10, 1921, in Tularosa to Pedro and Mariana (Barrio) Delgado.
She was a longtime and active member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she was a regular at bingo.
Survivors include her sons Sal Prudencio and his wife, Susie, of Mesa, Ariz., George Prudencio, Charles Prudencio, and Daniel R. Ortega and his wife, Teresa, all of Alamogordo; daughters Darlene Mallari and her husband, Mario, of El Paso, and Virginia Ice and her husband, Marvin, of Wolfforth, Texas; and grandchildren David Ortega, of Alamogordo, Danielle Cooper and her husband, Chris, of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Christina Reeves and her husband, Travis, of Clovis, Eric Ashe and his wife, Destiny, of San Antonio, Texas, Jessica Holguin and her husband, Oscar, of El Paso, Chelesty Ice and her husband, Michael, of Wolfforth, Diana Sierra and her husband, Frank, of Alamogordo, Adam Prudencio and his wife, Patty, of Alamogordo, Danny Prudencio, of Dallas, David Prudencio and his wife, Shawnna, and Yvonne Saldana and her husband, Gilbert, of Alamogordo; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Vega Ortega; a daughter, Bernice Prudencio; and two grandchildren, Christopher Ice and Jennifer Prudencio.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at the Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home chapel.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Pallbearers include David Ortega, Eric Ashe, Adam Prudencio, Danny Prudencio, David Prudencio, Franklin Sierra, Oscar Holguin, Alex Mallari, Patrick Prudencio and her grandchildren.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
