Margarita I. Holguin, 74
Margarita I. Holguin 74, of Alamogordo, passed away on Jan. 25, 2011.
Margarita had been suffering from injuries received in a car accident in May 2010. Margarita was born in Vaughn on Feb. 3, 1932, to Florencio and Priscilla Gutierrez.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Gustavo R. Holguin; her children Christina Zilisch ( Steve ), Gustavo Holguin Jr. (Margaret), Melissa O'Neill (Mike), Amy Kirley (James), Michael Holguin (Kelly) and Regina Holguin (Jason); 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sister, Vangie Cordova; brothers, Joe Gutierrez and Ernest Gutierrez and many nieces and nephews.
Margarita enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and visiting the Senior Center as well as the Flickinger theater. She was a wonderful caring and giving mother and grandmother and a beloved aunt, friend and neighbor.

A Celebration of Life for Margarita will be held on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. by Deacon Don Dickman. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. following the rosary with Father Juan Montoya, OFM, Celebrant.
The family will greet friends at 9 a.m. before the rosary at the church.
"You didn't deserve what you went through, so God gave you rest. His garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best."
The Holguin family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
