Obituary Condolences

Marlene Urbina, 73, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2010. 
She was born on Dec. 25, 1936, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to Luis and Dolores Figueroa. As a child, her family moved to New York City, where she lived until 1967 when she and her family moved to Alamogordo.
Her interests included family, gardening, sewing and reading. She worked as a nurse's assistant at Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital and as a counselor for the New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped until she retired.
She is survived by her son Parris Urbina; two brothers, Didier Figueroa and Hugo Figueroa; and three grandchildren, Mykal, David and Alex Urbina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Urbina.
Viewing and funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1800 23rd St., in Alamogordo. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., with services to follow at 10 a.m.
The Urbina family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
