Mary Esther Rambo, 66, of Alamogordo, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Mountain View Medical Center in Las Cruces.
She was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Pueblo, Colo., to Cecil and Elsie Ruth (Lunsford) Walden.
She was a mathematician employed by civil service and was a member of the Mathematical Association of America. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Alamo Senior Center. She was a member of the Moose Lodge since 1985 and was a past regent and received the College of Regents degree from the Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Richard Rambo, in 1996.
She is survived by a niece, Nancy Tucker, of Albuquerque; great-niece Samantha Jolley and husband, Nick, and great-great-nephew and niece Zane and Saige Jolley, all of Lubbock, Texas; great-nephew Nick Burton and wife, Amy, and great-great-niece Kyra Burton, of Pueblo, Colo.; two brothers, James Walden and wife, Sharon, of Kettering, Ohio, and Sam Walden and wife, Donitta, of Augusta, Ga.; and a sister, Alice Martin and husband, Gene, of Phoenix.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Loyal Order of the Moose No. 2016 Lodge in Alamogordo.
The Rambo family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
