Mary M. Price Obituary

Mary Mabel (Leith) Price, 75, a long-time resident of Alamogordo, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

She was born to Charles and Ruby Leith of Fort Fairfield, Maine on Jan. 29, 1939. She was the youngest of seven children, six girls and one boy.
Mary graduated high school in 1956. After graduation she worked as a secretary at the Coca Cola plant in Presque Isle, Maine, from 1956-1957.
In 1956 Mary met Charlie Price whom she married on Nov. 1, 1957. Charlie was a jet engine mechanic for the United States Air Force at Loring Air Force Base in Maine.
A year later they welcomed the arrival of their first son, Charlie. When Charlie Jr. was four, another son Mark was born. The family was delighted six years later when they were blessed with a baby girl Beth.
The military took Mary and Charlie to new places around the world, Philippines, England and Spain to name a few. The family's military lifestyle introduced Mary to the love of traveling. During Charlie's time in the military, Mary was active in church activities, especially with the senior programs.

The Air Force brought the family to Alamogordo in 1971, where the Price family eventually retired. Mary continued her work with Keenagers at First Baptist Church, where she planned monthly events and several trips for the senior adults.
Mary loved life and garage sales. She delighted in finding treasures at a bargain. She enjoyed traveling and sharing those experiences with her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She was always up for an adventure, including rafting on the Colorado River, backpacking and riding trains through Europe.

Survivors include her husband Charlie Donald Price; son Charlie D. Price, Jr. and his wife Lola M.; daughter Beth Ann Price. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jacob, Amanda, James and Aaron Kuhr; Duncan Leith Larson – along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ruby Leith, son Mark Price, sisters, Mirian, Ruth, Anna, Opal and Alice, and brother Fred Leith.

The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Alamogordo. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Garland Peaks officiating.
Burial will be at Monte Vista Cemetery.

The Price family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
