Mary Vitalis Obituary
Mary Vitalis was born on July 5, 1925, in Carbondale, Pa., to Constantino and Antoinette Pavalone. Mary went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2010.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Laguzzi and her husband, Johnnie, and Sandra (Sandy) Staples and her husband, Bill; two sisters, Lucille Roche and her husband, Harold, and Connie Ahl. Other survivors include three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six nephews, one niece, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other members of her "extended family" who will miss her dearly.
Mary moved to Alamogordo 23 years ago after visiting her sister, Lucille. She opened a children's day care in her home, which she ran for 20 years. She was very proud of all the children she took care of over the years, and loved every single one of them. If you ever met Mary, you would never forget her, always with a smile or something to make you laugh. Her motto was "better laugh than cry."
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday May 4, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M. A reception for all her friends and family will follow.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral to direct the arrangements.
