Max Lujan Obituary
Max Lujan, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Alamogordo. He was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Moran to Jose Isaac Lujan and Eloisa Montoya.
Max was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He received his degree in mathematics soon after serving in the Army. He was employed as a foreman for Alamo Sheet Metal in Alamogordo until his retirement in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Eloisa Lujan; his wife, Lugardita Pacheco; his son Peter; and brother Alfonso Gallegos.
Survivors include son Paul Lujan, of Albuquerque; daughter Mary Lou Henley; grandchildren James Henley and Aaron Henley, of Alamogordo, and Marcos and Marcio Lujan, of Albuquerque; great-grandson Jaymeson John Aaron Henley and his mother, Ryan Avila, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister Mela Garduno; brother Lalo Gallegos, of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister Peta and her husband, Louis Ulibarri; brother Dick and his wife, Ellen, of Albuquerque; sister Maya and her husband, Mathias Zamora, of Santa Fe; sister-in-law Carmen Gallegos, of Albuquerque; and several nieces and nephews.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at the church following the rosary.
The Lujan family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
