Maxine Estrada Lucero, 66, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Las Cruces.
Mrs. Lucero was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Alamogordo to Pedro and Rita (Noriega) Estrada. She was a retired teacher's aide with Alamogordo Public Schools, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Erasmo B. Lucero, of the family home; a son, Ralph Lucero and his wife Veronica, of Alamogordo; three daughters, Elaine Farmer and her husband Dennis, of Alamogordo, Cindy Lopez and her husband Chris, of Alamogordo, and Missy Warren and her husband Bob, of Houston; five grandchildren, Valerie Lopez, of Alamogordo, Vanessa Lopez and her fiancé Jacob Romero, of Carlsbad, Vannah Concepcion and her husband Xavier, of Alamogordo, Robbie Warren and his wife Kayla, of Grand Forks, N.D., and Jaiden Warren, of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Romero, of Carlsbad, Cerriah Concepcion, of Alamogordo, and R.J. Warren, of Grand Forks; four foster grandchildren, Savanah Davis, Clarissa Swistak, Nicole Quam and Jennifer English; a brother, Pete Estrada and his wife Virginia; four sisters, Connie Scroggins, of Alamogordo, Mary Lou Armijo, of Alamogordo, Carmen Barreras and her husband Carlos, of Chandler, Ariz., and Diane Miller and her husband Gene, of La Luz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Valerie Denise Lucero; and two brothers, Willie Estrada and Gonzalo Estrada.
A vigil service will be this evening at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with the rosary to be recited by Linda Villavisencio.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Wayne Herpin, S.J., as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Warren, Jacob Romero, Xavier Concepcion, Gilbert Estrada, George Montoya and Paul Mancuso. Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Guilliot, Anthony Pacheco, Anthoney Lopez, Abel Armijo, Neal Pacheco, Mario Lucero and Roy Austin.
