1921 - 2010 Obituary Condolences
Mayo Jeter, 89, CMSGT retired USAF passed away Aug. 5, 2010.
He will be missed by his family and friends. He was born Aug. 1, 1921, to Hilrey Esmond Jeter and Mettie Will (Calloway) Jeter in McKenzie, Ala. Mayo retired after 30 years service with the US Air Force, he was a World War II veteran. Rotary awarded him a Paul Harris Fellow.
He is survived by his son Ronald D. Jeter and daughter-in-law Janice of Alamogordo; daughter Kathleen Jeter of the family home; grandchildren Tiffany Ortiz (Mark, deceased) and Susan Hutson (Joe); great-grandchildren Chezerea and Marcus Ortiz, and Shaye and Ashley Hutson; sister Lucile Carlile of Florida and sister-in-law June Windsor of California.
Mayo was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Marjorie, his parents, two brothers Rudolph and Charley, sister Bobbie, and two brothers-in-law J. T. Carlile and Jim Windsor.
