Obituary Condolences

Melvin D. Forshey, 80, of Alamogordo, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society, Betty Dare.
Forshey was born Dec. 30, 1927 in Williamsburg, Penn., to Homer Doyle and Elsie Mae (Suter) Forshey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from owning a trucking company. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of Portage Lodge No. 220, F.&A.M. in Altoona, Penn.
Survivors include his daughter Tamara Hansen of Alamogordo; a stepson, John Hoffner, of Saxton, Penn.; and a sister Margaret Forshey Hatten of Granada Hills, Calif.
Forshey was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Dorothy Jean, in 2004.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home and inurnment will be in the Alto Reste Park Cemetery in Altoona.
