Mildred L. "Millie" Hughes Obituary
Mildred "Millie" L. Hughes, of Salem, Ore., died from a brief illness Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Salem.
Millie was born in San Francisco to George and Eleanor Erickson. She was married to Harold A. Hughes and together they raised a loving family with two daughters in Modesto, Calif. Millie was a longtime office employee of Sears in Modesto, working in the credit/audit department. She retired in 1989. She was a loving mother and wife and made people smile and laugh whereever she went.
The couple relocated to Alamogordo in 1992 to live near their daughter Terry and her family. Harold, her loving husband of 54 years, preceded her in death in 2000. In 2007, Millie moved to Salem to live near her daughter Jill and her family.
Survivors include two daughters and two son-in-laws, Terry and Leo Bukowski, of Schertz, Texas, and Jill and Philip La Vine, of Salem; four grandchildren: Curtis Quattrin of Schertz, and Lorelle, Tara and Paul La Vine, all of Salem; two nephews, Jeff and John Graham, of California; and many grand-nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
Memorial services and internment will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.
