Obituary Condolences

Visitation for Moises Sambrano, 77, of Alamogordo and formerly of Lincoln County, was Monday, April 21, 2008, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso, with a prayer service that followed. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m. in St. Jude's Catholic Church at San Patricio with military burial rites to follow at the Hondo Cemetery.
Mr. Sambrano passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Alamogordo. He was born Sept. 17, 1930, at San Patricio and had lived most of his life in Lincoln County. He served with the Carrizozo Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, he was a charter member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse, served as the undersheriff for Lincoln County in the early 1970s and was one of the best sheep shearers around. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Libby Salcido on July 9, 1955 at Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife Libby, of Alamogordo; five sons, Gilbert Sambrano, of Roswell, Clifford Sambrano, of Tularosa, Lorenzo Sambrano, of Carrizozo, Moises Sambrano Jr., of Las Cruces, and Alex Sambrano, of Santa Fe; a daughter, Bernice Austad, of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Adam Sambrano, of California; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
