Myriam M. ""Dimples"" Snyder, 92
Myriam M. ""Dimples"" Snyder, 92, passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, in Alamogordo. She was born on July 20, 1918, at the foot of Comanche Pike south of Granbury, Texas, to Sid and Edna Armstrong.
She married Clyde L. Snyder on Sept. 16, 1937. They moved to Alamogordo on July 25, 1941. Dimples led a rancher's life of hard work and little schooling. In 1935 she was rodeo queen in Magdalena. She became a beautician and worked until retirement.
Myriam ""Dimples"" Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; great-grandson, Austin Levi Polson; son-in-law, Burl Polson; and two brothers, Raymond and Jake Armstrong.
Survivors include her son, Roger L. Snyder of the family home in Alamogordo; daughter, Shirley Polson of Cloudcroft; grandchildren, Debbie Polson and her other half, Mike Bishop of Pipe Creek, Texas; and Kenneth Polson of Alamogordo. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Kody Polson of Colorado; a great-great-grandchild, Kyle Polson of Utah; sisters, Louise Strain of Silver City and Wynon Miller of Roswell; brothers, Calvin Armstrong of Houston, Texas, and Bill Armstrong of Quemado; and many nieces, nephews and old and dear friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ran Loy officiating.
Pallbearers include Chet Armstrong, Wayne Armstrong, Leslie Armstrong, Clinton Armstrong, Stanley Wilson and Mike Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers are Gene Green and Dan Misquez.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
