Myron W. (Pete) Baker Obituary
Pete Baker passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, from lung cancer. He was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Warsaw, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Baker, of Cloudcroft, where Pete and Linda lived; three daughters, Debbie Campbell, of Navasota, Texas, Clarissa Baker, of Spring, Texas, and Tina Kirk, of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Chris and Brandon Campbell, Ashley Baker, Drake MacGorman, and Mason, Morgan and Marshall MacDonald; four great-grandchildren, Johnathan Frank, Jessica Sanchez, Brandon Campbell and Ariel Campbell; and one sister, Rose Pratt, of Batavia, N.Y.
Pete served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired from Sheppard Air Force Base after 24 years of service.
Pete enjoyed fishing, camping, family and working with wood, repairing buildings, sharing his talents with others and always helping out at the New Beginnings Learning Center, where he loved to watch children learn and grow. He was also very active at the Cloudcroft United Methodist Church, and Pete's most enjoyable time was with his family and friends.
Pete touched many people's lives, and everyone that he came in contact with always became a part of his family. There was never anyone Pete met who did not have a kind word to say about him. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a celebration of his life at Cloudcroft United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contributions be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of EL Paso in memory of Pete Baker.
With all of our love, we will miss you, loving husband, daddy and papaw.
Direct cremation will take place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
