Nell (Painter) Curry, 88, passed away on April 3, 2015, in Alamogordo.

She was born on May 31, 1926, in Alamogordo to William and Gertrude (McNatt) Painter.
Nell's family was a pioneer ranching family from Nebraska that settled first in the Sacramento Mountains before moving to the Tularosa Basin. Nell was born, educated, married and died in Alamogordo over a period of 88 years. Her mother, Gertrude Painter, a native of Cloudcroft, was active in Otero County politics while her grandmother, Minnie McNatt established the Cuba Avenue Church of Christ in her home. Nell, while attending the University of New Mexico, met and subsequently married an army aviator, Jac Curry. Married for 68 years they established homes in Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota -- where her three children (Cheryl, Michael and Susan) were born -- Puerto Rico, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, California and, later after her husband's retirement, New Mexico.

She was a champion bridge player and a leader in the Alamogordo Senior Center Bridge Club. She loved to travel and covered the United States, Alaska, Nova Scotia and Western Europe.
Loving her family and her God was her passion and she lived her life with gusto and enthusiasm. She was the complete woman.

Survivors include her husband Ralph Curry, two daughters Cheryl Curry (Dennis) Evans of Lake Almanor, Calif., Susan Curry of Alamogordo; son Michael (Rosemary) Curry of Roseville, Calif. Along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren all living in California.
